When we were contacted by our customer recently to create her engagement ring we had no idea how popular the ring would prove to be with our followers.
Morganite engagement rings have been very popular for a while (read our “Ultimate Guide to Morganite“) and this beautiful engagement ring with its delicate pink centre stone looks like they will continue to be popular over the coming years.
The band was created in 18ct white gold with a 1.52ct centre stone. The morganite was surrounded by 16 small round brilliant diamonds (total diamond weigh 0.25ct) in a halo setting. Once delivered to the customer the ring was then on its way to Zanzibar for the proposal.
Many of today’s brides embrace the tradition of “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” on their wedding day. The tradition originally signified the bride walking up the aisle with new items that corresponded to each line but we have applied the age-old rhyme to that very special piece of jewellery – the engagement ring.
Engagement Ring Traditions
One of the really fun parts of creating engagement rings for our customers is discovering the different traditions around the world that are connected to this very special piece of jewellery.
Whilst many of us wear our engagement ring on our left hand there are some wonderfully different traditions in various countries and these are our favourites:
When you purchase an engagement ring from Exclusivity by Design we also provide you with information on how to keep your ring looking as perfect as the day you bought it.
Over time daily wear and dust can affect the brilliance of your stone. You are always welcome to bring the piece to our workshop where we will clean your engagement ring and check the setting for the security of the stone.
In between professional clean we recommend the occasional use of a nonabrasive cleaner for your engagement ring. A mild solution of six parts water to one part ammonia may be applied with a soft cloth or brush. Jewellery with stones other than diamonds may need alternative care.
How Much Should An Engagement Ring Cost?
It’s not every day that your partner decides to get down on one knee and proposes to spend the rest of your lives together. It’s for this very reason that the symbol to represent his occasion, the engagement ring, is of such great importance.
Your love for each other is of course what matters most but there is a reason why we wear an engagement ring; to show the world how important your relationship is. And one question that often arises around this piece of jewellery is exactly how much should an engagement ring cost?
Engagement rings, as we all know, come in a variety of different shapes and size. From a pear cut stone to a princess cut solitaire to a heart shaped centre stone.
If you are about to start the search for your perfect ring then we suggest a ring that will never (ever!) go out of style – the round brilliant single solitaire.
